About Soil Permeability Apparatus

Permeability is very important engineering property to study the behavior of soil in respect of natural conditions and under the flow of water. The permeability is dependent on particlesize and shape, density and degree of saturation. The instrument used to measure soil permeability is often called permeameter also. These may be either constant head or falling head or combined head. Constant head permeability apparatus is used basically for coarse grained materials such as sand and gravel whereas falling head is more appropriate for fine grained soils such as clay or silty soil.

Dual Test Capability

This apparatus supports both constant head and falling head permeability tests, enabling users to determine the coefficient of permeability for a range of soil types. The flexibility ensures compliance with IS 2720 (Part XVII) and ASTM D2434, delivering versatile results for geotechnical research.

Manual Control and Precision Measurement

Operators control the inflow and outflow of water using manual valves and regulators. The transparent tubes, graduated at 1 mm intervals, allow precise observation and measurement, while quick-release valves facilitate efficient operation and quick setup changes.
