Permeability is very important engineering property to study the behavior of soil in respect of natural conditions and under the flow of water. The permeability is dependent on particlesize and shape, density and degree of saturation. The instrument used to measure soil permeability is often called permeameter also. These may be either constant head or falling head or combined head.
